Photo Banner Design Tips

• Use the original photo file, not a screenshot or a copy from social media, which is much smaller.
• Check the image requirements. Photos uploaded to the online designer have size limits listed in how to design a banner online; finished designs follow our artwork specifications.
• Match the banner to the photo’s shape. Phone photos fit a 3×4 and most camera photos fit a 4×6 without cropping.
• Keep faces and text a few inches from the edges, where hems and grommets go.
• Put text over a plain part of the photo, or on a solid band, so it stays readable.

What resolution do my photos need?

It depends on how you order. Photos you add in the online designer must meet the image requirements in how to design a banner online. If you upload a finished design, see our artwork specifications. Either way, use the original photo file for the sharpest print.

Which banner size fits my photo without cropping?

Most phone photos have a 4:3 shape, which matches a 3×4 banner. Most camera photos have a 3:2 shape, which matches a 4×6 banner.

Can I use photos from Facebook or Instagram?

They often look soft, because social media shrinks photos when you upload them. Use the original from your phone, camera, or photographer.

How fast can I get a photo banner?

Requesting a design proof may delay your order. Delivery time depends on the shipping method you choose at checkout.
